I love making purses! I also love using them - I get lots of reaction and comments too.

I have also sold the ones I am using so have learned to carry an empty plastic bag with me! Here is a sampling.

Veronica Bag by Lazy Girls

I made this purse for a challenge sponsored by Bernina and our local Bernina Store. My purse came in second by popular vote (I didn't tell them I have a Viking!) The flowers are all silk ribbon, some vintage, with vintage button centers. The butterfly is beaded using a preprinted butterfly fabric.

Purse for Allyssa

This purse was commissioned. The base fabric is "slash and Burn" from the Spring 2005 issue of Quilting Arts and the Butterfly adapted from a CQMagonline article The trim was purchased and then dyed to match.

Double Purse

This is actually two purses in one. One side is to carry purse stuff, the other my small sketch book. I saw the fabric at a local quilt shop and fell in love with it. The front piece in the first pic is grunge board with a design stenciled and done with Embossing Paste, in the second pic, Painted and embossed Craft foam.

Paperdoll Purse

I had been collecting halographic fabrics and wanted a unique purse to bring to Day With Dolls in 2007. Love the reactions this purse gets! I have since changed the clasp and added a shoulder strap -much more user friendly!

Barbara Randle Purse

In 2005 I went to Quilt Market in Houston and attended a demo by Barbara Randle. She had a drawing for two blocks she made - one was just pieced and the other partially embellished and I won! This is the purse that resulted. The design is my own.

Brides Purse: Made as a gift. The bride's theme was butterflies. I used my embroidery machine to make the patch with their names on it. LOTS of rolled ribbon roses and silk ribbon embroidery here.

Petal Purse: I love the dragonfly brocade so decided to use it as a base for a purse.

Evening Purses

The top one was a gift for a special friend. The bottom was made from a Block of the Issue In CQMAGOnline designed by the late Nora Creeach.: Red Purse $100

Mermaid Purse

A real showstopper. The base is collage fabric. I then embellished it with ribbon, angelina fibers, hand painted lace motifs, LOTS of beads and trims.

NFS

Commissioned Piece

A simple envelope purse made to go with a special outfit. Colors were eggplant,turquoise, purple and gold. The dimentional flowers were made from Grunge board, the flowers in the base were cut out with a Sissix Big Kick machine. Lots of hand and machine embroidery, beads and sequins.

Paisley Purse

One of my favorites, the paisleys are fibers and fabrics felted to the base fabric using my Embellisher machine. They were further embellished with beads, buttons, cabachons and sequins. The cording was done on a cordmaker similar to the Diva but made from foam for a child to use - and LOTS cheaper!

Silver and Gold Purse

One of my students in class made a purse using this combo of colors and I just LOVED it so had to make my own. The butterfly is my own design and hand beaded.

Blue Collage Fabric Purse

Hard to see the detail in this purse. The cord is beaded crochet, the edge of the purse and flap is beaded and there is beaded fringe hanging from the flap behind the flower pin. A fun purse to carry.

Pastel Collage Purse

Soft spring colors on the diagonal highlighted by bobbin work and sparkly fibers. Includes OOAK hand-made Polymer and bead pin. Pastel cord handle. Completely lined.

Slash and Burn Butterfly Purse

Shades of green with lots of metallic gold showing. The butterfly is dyed silk velvet enhanced with metallic fibers added by bobbin work. The body ends in a beaded fringe. Hand dyed twisted cord to match. Completely lined.

Soft Gold Metallic Purse

Soft antique gold with touches of copper, bright gold and metallic colors makes this purse subtle yet striking. Completely lined, just waiting for a pin to highlight the center. Metallic twisted cord trim and handle.

Miscellaneous Purses

DIL's Purse

This small wrist purse was made from silk and embellished with lots of crystals, pearls, and embroidery.

BridesMaids Purses

The heart and initial was machine embroidered and then embellished with beads, crystals, silk ribbon flowers and pearls. Each BM received on with her initial in the center. The color matched their dresses.

Black and Copper Purse

This is a type of collage fabric. I beaded the flower for the clasp. The handle is strung gold beads and ribbon encased in a sparkle tulle tube. One of my favorites.

Two of my favorites, they were purchased right off my shoulder! I think I need to make more.
